Nuclear War 04:27
If they push that button, your ass got to go How the fuck does one man have that much control? They send us off into war under dubious pretexts Orchestratin’ catastrophe—so fuckin’ dense. Bring me your tired, your poor huddled masses, We give ‘em a rifle, put ‘em through classes The army is packed—immigrants, blacks, and wackos Sounds like conspiracy, the same way that crack was. Send the ones they don’t want, kill the ones that they fear. And when they battle to the finish, then they don’t shed a tear. Escalatin’ the violence, for profit is wrong, But we’ll reap what we sow, now the world’s got the bomb. When the radiation falls, we droppin’ like dominoes, The price that we pay—it’s just how the story goes, It’s gory though, gotta rise up in mass, Cause what chu gonna do, if you don’t have your ass. Say bring the boys home, cause they’re in harms way, But their boys are there too and their dyin’ each day. 4000 troops that’s hilascious and vile, but damn a 100,000 more on the opposite aisle. What the fuck is that, have we got no humanity, All of this for oil man, stop this insanity, Allow our quote leaders to fuck up our world, Can’t rise to the top unless you’re an asshole. Fuck a 16 month plan, cause the time is now. The surge ain’t worked it just put more men down. And killin’ all the dissidents does not make a victory, like bangin’ on some instruments does not make a symphony. Snuff out their breath—lose the light in your eyes. Bombs on a funeral--deny it with lies. What problem does this solve, the crisis is resolved? Not a fuckin’ chance cause that shits gonna revolve. I came to fight for justice and freedom for the world, But I fight for my life and to see my girl. They say the best gonna make it, but the lucky survive. Had to shut my heart off, then my soul just died. Was a boy when they took me, now don’t know what I am. Made up of what I lost, forever haunted and damn, On my knees at night, I pray to God just to make it. Funny thing is, they pray I ain’t gonna take it. We got so much in common—we both want this to end. I’m lookin’ in his eyes, I know that he could be my friend. But the Sarge and the Pentagon say he’s a fuckin’ terrorist, Dream I turn the gun around and they’re the ones I rail against. How the fuck I get here? They offered me an education, chance to see the world, basically it’s desperation. All the shit I’ve seen, we’ll never be the ones to win, I dreamed I saw St. Augustine, but he just left me here again.

about

We were digging deep in our archives and found a bunch of songs that never made it on any of our albums. We restored, remastered, remixed them and compiled a series of EPs from them. The first EP in the series is this one, Nuclear War. It contains 6 versions of this old favourite including the remastered original version as well as 4 brand new remixes!

This record is dedicated to Stanislav Yevgrafovich Petrov, the man who saved the world in the 1983 Soviet nuclear false alarm incident. Petrov judged the reports to be a false alarm, and his decision to disobey orders, against Soviet military protocol, is credited with having prevented an erroneous retaliatory nuclear attack on the United States and its NATO allies that could have resulted in a large-scale nuclear war.
